My heart aches for the family, friends, and followers of Charlie Kurt. I could hardly stop watching all the tributes to this amazing young man. As I prayed for those suffering this loss, it occurred to me that there is a similarity to our Savior’s story. Jesus gave His life for what he treasured most, us. Charlie gave his life for what he believed in, his God, family, and all the misinformed, deluded young people he could reach. In His earthly form, Jesus could only be in one place at a time, so after he ascended into heaven, He sent us His Spirit that would always be with each of us to help us carry out His work. Made me wonder if after Charlie was taken from his valiant ministry, could it be that his mission would spur all who valued his cause, to take up his mantle with new vigor and dedication and spread his love of God and his dedication to revealing truth in a way only one man couldn’t? Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah’s anointing after he passed. May Charlies followers receive the same.
