ARE YOU DOING YOUR PART?

Hello friends, hope your summer is going well—mine is going faster and faster, as it seems each year. Reading recently in Luke 13:6-9, I was struck by the story of the fruitless fig tree. The owner wanted to cut it down, but his keeper said, “let it alone this year also as I dig around and fertilize it.”

My thoughts ran to family members and friends not yet in the fold. “Lord,” I prayed, I’m digging by faith to soften the ground that holds them until those dormant roots feel Your holy breath. I am fertilizing those seeds with prayer, so Your living water will revive a thirst for truth. I am plowing with Your word, ‘Believe on the Lord, Jeus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’ (Acts 16:31) and believing the conviction of the Holy Spirit that leads to repentance will also convict of righteousness.

Because I am sowing according to Your will, I expect the harvest to complete and burst forth glorious fruit that lasts. Thanks for one more year, Lord, or for however long it takes. I refuse to back down from your promise.”

“For all the promises of God in Him are yes and in Him amen, to the glory of God through us,” 2 Corinthians 1:20
